Willie Revillame’s helper and her boyfriend nabbed as suspects in robbery

Just 10 hours after the robbery at Willie Revillame’s house, police arrested two suspects in what is said to be an “inside job.”

Ten hours after the robbery in the house of TV host Willie Revillame was reported, two suspects were arrested in Pasig City. One of the suspects is the helper of the Wowowee host.

According to GMANews.TV , Andrea Wenceslao and her partner Danny Pacampang were picked up by operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).

Police said that Andrea and a certain Edna took turns in attending to Willie, as helpers, at his residence in the Corinthian Hills Subdivision in Ugong Norte, Quezon City.

In an earlier report published here in PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Willie did not give a direct answer to the question about whether he thought the robbery was, in crime parlance, an inside job. This means that the robbery was planned and/or committted by people who had official access to the house. To the question, Willie had simply said it was difficult to point to anyone at the time. In the report of GMA News this afternoon, however, the police said: “Si Willie na mismo, naniniwalang may kinalaman iyong katulong niya at ‘yong boyfriend nito.”

Superintendent Marcelino Pedrozo, deputy chief of QCPD’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU), also quoted Revillame as saying that, aside from his two maids, only Pacampang had access to his two-storey residence.

Although the two suspects denied they were involved, Pedrozo pointed out: “Pero shift niya [Wenceslao] ngayon, a. Bakit hindi siya pumasok?”

As Willie already said in the earlier report, Edna was off duty when the robbery happened, which was supposedly in the wee hours of Saturday, November 1. She said that when she reported for work early Sunday morning, November 2, she noticed that Willie’s bedroom was disorderly, but that she ignored it.

Willie was out of town during the weekend. It was when he returned home early Monday morning that he learned about the robbery. He immediately reported this to the QCPD, which launched an immediate follow-up operation.

Police said that the robbery suspects entered the house through a narrow bathroom window. They were able to cart away three million pesos worth of wrist watches, plus a still-undetermined amount of jewelry.

While Willie had expressed doubts about the village security in the earlier report, investigators now say they already suspected the robbery to be an inside job because the posh subdivision has tight security.

In Filipino, Pedrozo said: “The subdivision’s security was tight. Policemen like us were not even allowed to immediately enter. Security guards still had to get confirmation from the owner of the house we were visiting.”
