MANILA, Philippines – Newly-appointed Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ralph Recto arrived at the National Economic Development Authority Office in Pasig City and received a rousing welcome from the agency’s employees.
He replaced acting Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Augusto Santos, who will be resuming his post as deputy-director general of NEDA.
Wearing a white long-sleeve polo, khaki pants and white and tan leather shoes, Recto was visibly pleased by the number of NEDA employees who lined up at the lobby to welcome his arrival.
Repeatedly saying “thank you” to the employees, the mestizo-looking Recto was all smiles at the reception that he got.
Asked for their comment on the new chief of NEDA, female employees gushed “he’s so handsome.”
A turnover ceremony will be held later. Recto is also set to meet members of the press Tuesday evening.
