MANILA, Philippines — Former senator Ralph Recto has been appointed director general of the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) effective immediately, Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita has announced.
Augusto Santos, the acting NEDA chief, will continue to stay on as the agency’s deputy director general, said Ermita during his press briefing Wednesday.
Recto was a losing senatorial candidate for the administration during the 2007 elections.
Ermita said Recto’s appointment has been submitted to the Commission on Appointments.
