“I don’t know kung may chance pa in the future, nobody knows. Pero as of now we’re separated,” says Anjo Yllana about possible reconciliation with wife Jackie Manzano.
Actor Anjo Yllana confirmed what Ricky Lo wrote in his Funfare column yesterday, April 12, and what his talent manager Douglas Quijano told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal)—his separation with wife Jackie Manzano.
In a taped interview with Startalk aired yesterday, April 12, Anjo directly said, “Confirmed yung nakasulat kanina. We’re separated. We’re filing for divorce kasi married kami sa Las Vegas, e, we were never married here.”
In an article published in PEP, Douglas related that the couple is separating because, “It’s been an on-off relationship for 13 years. There is no third party involved on both sides.”
Anjo affirmed this and said that they tried to keep their marriage, but still it ended in separation which, he said, is a mutual decision.
The comedian seriously explained to Startalk, “Hindi ganun kahirap para sa amin kasi, sa mga hindi nakakaalam, we already broke up two years ago. For almost a year parang naghiwalay kami kasi maraming hindi pagkakaintindihan.
“So, we opted to separate then, parang trial. After a less than year, nagkabalikan kami. We tried, kumbaga noong 2005—August, September, October, ganun—nagbalikan kami. ‘Tapos the following year, yun nga, she got pregnant, problem, nalusutan naman namin.”
H reiterated that no third party is involved and that their misunderstandings are the main cause of their breakup.
“Marami kaming hindi pagkakaintindihan dati pa,” revealed Anjo. “Thirteen years na yata on and off yung away. We decided, finally, na to end it. Walang third party. It was a mutual decision. It is not the first kaya hindi ganoon kahirap.”
The couple has planned an arrangement for their four kids. Anjo explained, “Pinakaimportante kasi dito right now are the kids, e. Sa kids naman, I’ll have the kids during weekend—Friday, Saturday, Sunday—’tapos sa kanya [Jackie] kapag weekdays, kapag may pasok. So yun, sharing kami sa bata.”
However, Anjo said that he has yet to talk to their kids about their separation. He was still trying to get the right timing to break the news to their two daughters and two sons.
“Sa ngayon kasi, nakikiramdam ako, hindi ko pa nakakausap yung mga bata. This afternoon, after Eat Bulaga!, kakausapin ko yung dalawang babae ko, sila yung mas matanda, e.
“Hindi ko alam kung paano ko sasabihin sa kanila. Panganay ko, I don’t know how she’ll take it, kaya nga gusto ko magkaroon kami ng heart-to-heart talk. Yun ang pinaka-concern ko ngayon.”
Lastly, when asked if there would still be any chance that he and Jackie would get back together, Anjo simply answered, “I don’t know kung may chance pa in the future, nobody knows. Pero as of now we’re separated.”
