KC Concepcion is also a big fan of her Megastar mom. She counted Madrasta as one of her favorite Sharon Cuneta films. However, KC revealed that she’s not keen on the idea of doing a remake of her mother’s past flicks. “Natatakot po akong pag-usapan ‘yan,” she politely said when the idea was raised during the presscon of her newest ABS-CBN drama anthology, I Am KC, held today, March 28.
With all the attention and projects she’s currently earning, everyone knows that it is only a matter of time before Megadaughter KC Concepcion finally takes the plunge to the big screen.
And even she is excited with the thought.
“Sana nga po magkaroon,” she hopefully told the entertainment press during the press conference of her month-long ABS-CBN drama anthology titled I Am KC. The press conference was held earlier today, March 28, at the 9501 restaurant on ABS-CBN.
I Am KC will premiere tomorrow, March 29, at 7 p.m. with its first episode dubbed as “Binibining Palengke.” Joining KC for the said episode are Ai-Ai delas Alas and Jake Cuenca.
Unlike before when she’s very discreet in revealing details about her career plans, KC this time gamely shared her willingness to grace the big screen, just like her moviestar parents Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion.
However, nothing is still definite at this point and KC and her camp are still waiting for the right and perfect project that would jumpstart her foray in the silver screen.
Curiously, her rumored movie with Richard Gutierrez is still hanging in the balance. “Wala pa pong balita,” she casually informed PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during a short chat. “Kahit naman po ‘yong ibang movie projects na sinasabi, wala pa talagang formal talks or whatever. So, I’m also waiting like most of you,” she smiled.
Aside from the rumored film project with Richard, talks of KC doing a movie with Piolo Pascual and John Lloyd Cruz are also growing loud inside the four corners of entertainment industry.
Asked by the press if she’s favoring any of the actors stated for her film debut, KC humbly stressed that she’s not in the position to choose her leading men given her inexperience in the field of screen acting.
“Baka ako pa nga po ang mahiya,” she said sincerely. “Kasi ang gagaling po nila and matagal na nilang ginagawa ‘to [acting]. And besides, producers na po ang bahala kung sino ang gusto nilang kunin para makasama ko.”
MOVIE WITH SHARON. But given the chance, KC revealed that she would love to star in a movie with her mom, Sharon Cuneta. She rationalized that perhaps, the reason why ABS-CBN is not proposing the idea of pairing them together in a television program is because they’d rather have the mother-daughter tandem be seen on the big screen for a bigger project. KC, too, prefers it that way.
But what if a movie project with father Gabby Concepcion comes up first?
“Okay din po ‘yon,” answered KC. Pausing a bit, she quickly added, “Pero sana po mom ko muna kasi siya naman talaga ‘yong nagpalaki sa ‘kin and nakasama ko ng matagal.”
Given her sweet image, many can’t help but wonder if the idea of doing a screen kiss is totally fine with her.
“Naka-reserve po ‘yon,” she teasingly replied. Sensing that she was successful in arousing the curiosity of everyone inside the room, KC playfully pitched in, “Naka-reserve po ‘yon sa movie.”
Asked on who advised her to save that precious reel kiss, KC unabashedly revealed, “Mom ko po. Siya po ang nagsabi no’n na kailangan naka-reserve siya for [a] bigger project.”
