MANILA, Philippines – Hours after a bomb scare hit the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Parañaque City, a bomb scare hit the Bureau of Internal Revenue in Quezon City Friday morning.
But dzBB radio’s Mao dela Cruz said a check by police bomb experts of the BIR building along Quezon Avenue turned up negative.
Police said they received a call for assistance from the BIR after a caller with a “male voice” told them “a bomb will explode at 10 a.m.”
The report said the BIR evacuated its personnel from the building while the search went on.
Friday’s bomb threat came half a month before the yearly deadline for the filing of income tax returns – and a week before April Fools’ Day.
