MANILA, Philippines – Two people were hurt in an explosion believed to be caused by a grenade thrown at a school near the Mendiola Bridge near Malacañang in Manila Tuesday afternoon, radio reports said.
Initial investigation showed that the explosive device was hurled in the area between the La Consolacion College and College of the Holy Spirit.
The reports said two people were reportedly hurt in the blast and have been rushed to a nearby hospital.
Radio dzBB reported that a passing private vehicle was damaged in the explosion.
Members of the Manila Police District have started investigating the incident and is scouring the vicinity for an unidentified man wearing a red striped shirt and a ballcap who allegedly lobbed the explosive device.
