A magnitude 5 quake rocked the Batanes Islands in extreme Northern Luzon Saturday night, but no casualty or damage was initially reported.
The United States Geological Service (USGS) said the quake was recorded at 9:50 p.m. Its epicenter was traced 120 kilometers (km) west of Batanes.
In a report on its Web site, USGS said the epicenter was some 235 km north of Laoag in Ilocos Norte, or 635 km north of Manila. – GMANews.TV
